Minot Golf Guide
Travelers looking to have a picnic or simply to enjoy nice weather in a pleasant location should be sure to visit the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot. The park describes the various Scandinavian cultures and features a fantastic array of relevant architecture. Also in the area is the Dakota Territory Air Museum, which contains military and civilian aircraft, airplane models, various uniforms and assorted flight memorabilia, all well presented. Travelers who prefer earthbound transportation should stop by the Railroad Museum & Magic City Express, a small facility that charges no admission. The Roosevelt Park Zoo and the Roosevelt Park Pool are also places visitors might spend their time, as is the Taube Museum of Art.
Since Minot Air Force Base mostly defines the city, travelers with military affiliations may want to play nine holes at the Roughrider Golf Course. Ratcheting the caliber of golf way up is Souris Valley Golf Course, a forgiving but worthwhile public course that plays nearly 6,800 yards and carries a slope of 125. Kenmare Country Club, a nine-hole course that was opened in 1917, exists in nearby Kenmare, and the city of Burlington is home to two courses, the public Wildwood Golf Course and the semi-private Minot Country Club. And, finally, Apple Grove Golf Course in Minot is not for big hitters, since it measure only 1538 yards.
